Above is a recording from Raquette Lake Girls Camp's 2015 Team Week Sing Competition.  The song, titled "White Team Alma Mater" was written by three of the senior campers, two of the camps counselors and myself, and upon completion, was taught to over 200 team members.  The song was inspired by the senior campers past summer experiences.  They have something really special going on over in Raquette Lake, New York, and all we were doing was writing about it.

Soon after this sing competition, I traveled back home to Chicago, Illinois where I was reminded of and re-entered into the less utopian real-world society.  And back at home, it seemed like a lot of life was happening while I had been away for the summer.  In the midst of struggling with all of this change, preparing to return to school for another semester, and as well, dealing with my newly sick dog, I started to find serious application of our written song to my non-camp realities.

The reflection of the senior campers experiences here at Raquette Lake inspired me to do some more personal reflecting in terms of the broader picture of my life as it exists aside from camp.  In doing so, I created a piece titled "Twenty Years in Review".  The piece highlights some of my more prominent memories of my childhood and puts these pieces in conversation with lyrics from our White Team Alma Mater song.  In end, this project serves as a preservation of some of the more meaningful details of my memory as exists now and thus, has become something for me to look back to in order to recall these memories in the years to come.
